Role:

As part of my team: Consumer Payments which handled all the Europe region customer payments, I worked on launching of a new country as well as new payment methods.

Highlights:

• Star performer after quick ramp up (~1 week) from a college grad. Timely delivery on short timeline priority requirements + ad-hoc tasks.
• Leading component team and onboarding new members across teams. Initiatives on document and SoP improvements, also serving as PoC for team members and extending help.
• Receiving recognition and appreciation for efficient cross-collaboration with Product, Business, Country/Region heads, Accountants and Upstream Eng.
• Reducing escalations (including CEO escalation) to 90% by improving the reach of monitoring systems, Reliability improvements on high QPS service, Automation setups as Operational Excellence and documents + SoPs publication for mitigating unknown infra issues.
• Bar raiser for quality and delivery.

Details:

Launch of invoice payment method for NL (Netherlands):

• Extending gateway codebase (java monolith) of invoicing payment method to accommodate the multi-country model.
• Refactoring initiative to achieve micro-services and extension modules.
• UI changes customized for NL citizen.
• Ensuring secure payment channel with dedicated third-party PSP of NL.
• Billing and book-keeping at user-chosen intervals (monthly/weekly) process with various communication channels.

Accounting Channel setup for invoicing NL:

• Understanding the accounting review process to provide results in accountants' format.
• Writing user-stories and assembling a test-suite. Reviews with product and business heads.
• Test channel establishment from upstream to complete the path before launch.
• Modeling delivery and pickup scenarios with pilot launch test to native citizens.
• Review and Sign-off rounds with the accounting team.

Launch of new payment method BNPL(Buy Now Pay Later):

• Set up Security and Risk-checking scores for the new payment mode.
• Writing pipelines for Event-based function executions made from SQL (DynamoDB), kafka (MessageQueue) and callbacks + polling.
